Corby Steel Fabrications is a second-generation family business with over 30 years of experience, specialising in structural and mechanical engineering. Based in Newtowngore, Co. Leitrim, we deliver high-quality steel solutions and industrial engineering services to manufacturing facilities.
We are seeking an Industrial Site Supervisor / Working Lead to lead site work in industrial installations, and maintenance operations on client sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, motivated leader who can run jobs independently, manage a mobile crew, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can independently run smaller to medium-sized industrial projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will organise crews, communicate with client site management, coordinate materials and equipment, and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
The Site Supervisor/Foreman will oversee and actively participate in:
- Structural/Mechanical Installation: Supervising and assisting with the on-site installation of structural steelwork & mechanical components including access platforms, stairways, walkways, handrails, and industrial support structures.
- Industrial Engineering Services: Leading a range of tasks such as industrial equipment/machinery installations, facility engineering maintenance during shutdowns and planned maintenance including welding repairs and onsite fabrication.
- Crew & Job Management: Running jobs from our workshop base, travelling to client sites in the company van with a mobile team. Supervising and guiding the crew to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Communicating effectively with client site management, reporting progress and issues back to Corby Steel management, and keeping track of equipment, tools, and materials.
You will play a key role in coordinating projects, resolving challenges on-site, and ensuring work is completed within schedule and budget while upholding health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, lead, and work alongside the site crew in installation and other industrial engineering services.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide site work.
- Plan daily tasks, allocate work to team members, and ensure targets are met.
- Ensure site operations comply with all safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.
- Coordinate with the workshop and management to ensure smooth job progress.
- Oversee tools, equipment, and material usage, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supervising works in live industrial or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong hands-on skills in steel fabrication, machinery installations, or industrial maintenance.
- Proven experience leading crews on industrial installation, maintenance, or steelwork projects.
- Good working knowledge of MIG and stick (arc) welding for on-site installation and repair works
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to site operations.
- Full Irish/EU driving licence.
