Role Overview
The Turnover Cleaner - Cleaning Operative is responsible for preparing residential properties to a high standard between tenancies, ensuring each home is clean, presentable and ready for the next resident to move in.
This role is a key part of the resident journey and plays an important role in ensuring properties are turned around efficiently and consistently to Occu’s standards. The successful candidate will take pride in delivering high-quality cleaning, work efficiently to agreed deadlines and identify any maintenance or presentation issues that may affect a property’s readiness.
The role is field-based and involves travelling between multiple Occu-managed properties. A company vehicle will be provided for business use.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Turnover & End-of-Tenancy Cleaning.
- Complete detailed end-of-tenancy and turnover cleans in residential properties
- Prepare homes to a high standard ahead of new resident move-ins.
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and all other internal spaces.
- Clean appliances, cupboards, fixtures, fittings, doors, skirting boards and other areas as required.
- Remove dust, dirt, marks and general signs of occupation.
- Ensure properties are presented to Occu’s required cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Complete cleaning tasks within agreed schedules and turnaround times.
- Carry out additional or ad-hoc cleaning tasks as required to support operational needs.
Quality & Property Presentation
- Inspect completed work to ensure all areas have been cleaned thoroughly and meet the required standard.
- Pay close attention to detail, particularly in high-use areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.
- Identify areas requiring additional cleaning or attention before a property is signed off as ready.
- Take pride in ensuring every home is welcoming and move-in ready for the next resident.
Equipment, Supplies & Company Vehicle
- Use cleaning equipment, products and materials correctly and safely.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report any defects or damage.
- Ensure cleaning supplies are properly stocked and used efficiently.
- Keep storage areas clean, organised and safe.
- Maintain the company vehicle in a clean and presentable condition.
- Carry out basic daily checks and promptly report any vehicle issues or concerns.
- Use the company vehicle responsibly and in accordance with company policies.
Maintenance Awareness & Reporting
- Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, damage or safety concerns found during cleaning.
- Flag issues that may affect a property’s readiness for the next resident.
- Support the wider Operations and Property teams by reporting issues accurately and promptly.
- Record or communicate any significant property condition concerns as required.
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
- Work collaboratively with the wider Cleaning, Operations and Property teams.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, residents and management.
- Represent Occu positively while working on-site and travelling between properties.
- Maintain a reliable, professional and positive approach at all times.
- Work independently when required while maintaining strong communication with the wider team.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Previous professional experience in residential, commercial or turnover/end-of-tenancy cleaning is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet agreed cleaning deadlines.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and safe chemical usage.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple properties.
- Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Full, clean B driving licence is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel between multiple properties using a company vehicle.
- Must hold the necessary employment permit/visa for Ireland.

- Consistently high standards of cleanliness across all assigned properties.
- Timely completion of turnover and end-of-tenancy cleaning tasks.
- Properties prepared and presented to the required move-in standard.
- Safe and responsible use of cleaning chemicals, equipment and company vehicles.
- Proactive reporting of maintenance, damage and safety concerns.

- Reliable attendance, punctuality and flexibility to meet operational requirements.
