We are hiring a Kitchen Porter for our Central Production Kitchen inBroombridge, Dublin 7. Working as part of a small team you will be involved in various aspects of operating a commercial kitchen with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in food production.
Our Central Kitchen is based in based in Broombridge, Dublin 7 with excellent transport links based right beside Broombridge Luas and Train stations. The starting salary is €14.15 per hour.
As a Kitchen Porter you will perform a range of support tasks in our commercial kitchen. While not an exclusive list your role will typically involve the following tasks:
- Collecting and washing utensils cookware, pots and pans
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills and sinks
- Wiping down and sanitising food-preparation areas, work surfaces and walls
- Ensuring hygiene sand safety protocols are maintained to the highest level
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Unloading and unpacking deliveries
- Keeping storage areas tidy and organised
- Deep-cleaning fridges and freezers
- Report any faulty, broken or damaged equipment immediately to senior management
- Emptying bins
- Peeling and chopping vegetables
- Cleaning up spills
- Managing supplies and inventory
- Storing cooking equipment correctly
- Any other task as reasonably requested by your manager
Job Requirements:
- Availability to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 to 16:30
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience working in a catering environment is desirable
- Team player, honest and reliable
- Understanding of safe working practices and Health and Safety knowledge
- Works well under pressure.
