This graduate role is designed for ambitious individuals who are interested in building a career as a solicitor in a leading Irish corporate law firm. As a Graduate Trainee Solicitor, you will gain practical legal experience across a number of practice areas, working alongside partners, associates and wider client teams.
You will develop your legal, commercial and professional skills through structured seat rotations, hands-on client work, formal training and mentoring. The programme is suited to graduates who are intellectually curious, commercially aware, collaborative and motivated to make an impact from the beginning of their career.
Responsibilities:
As a Graduate Trainee Solicitor, you will:

Support lawyers and partners on client matters across corporate and commercial legal practice areas.

Conduct legal research and prepare clear, accurate summaries for internal and client use.

Draft, review and proofread legal documents, correspondence, transaction materials and briefing notes.

Assist with due diligence, document management, case preparation and transaction support.

Attend internal meetings, training sessions and, where appropriate, client meetings.

Build an understanding of Irish corporate law, business regulation and the commercial issues affecting clients.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments and practice groups.

Develop strong professional habits around accuracy, confidentiality, time management and client service.

Take ownership of your learning and actively seek feedback throughout each seat.

Contribute to the wider firm culture, including knowledge sharing, pro bono, responsible business and graduate community initiatives.
The programme provides structured training and development from the start of your career. Trainees can expect a combination of practical legal work, formal learning, commercial awareness training, advocacy, business skills development and practice group insights. ALG states that trainees take part in training sessions designed specifically for trainee solicitors, including legal development, commercial awareness, advocacy and business skills.
You will complete rotations across different departments, helping you gain exposure to a variety of legal disciplines and identify your areas of interest. ALG’s trainee programme includes four seats across areas such as Disputes & Investigations, Commercial Property, Corporate and M&A, ESG, Finance, Taxation, Pensions and Pro Bono.
