About Chen Solicitors
Chen Solicitors is a Dublin-based law firm providing legal services to individuals and businesses in Ireland.
As our practice continues to grow, we are looking to expand our multilingual team and strengthen our ability to communicate with and support clients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
We are currently seeking Multilingual Legal Assistants / Paralegals to join the firm on a flexible part-time basis.
The role may particularly suit law students, law graduates, overseas-qualified lawyers, paralegals, or candidates with strong language, communication and community engagement skills.The role will primarily involve multilingual client support, translation and interpretation, together with administrative, community engagement and, where appropriate, legal support activities.
Depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, competence and language skills, responsibilities may include:
- Providing translation and interpretation support for communications with clients;
- Assisting with communications between solicitors and clients whose first language is not English;
- Assisting with client enquiries, appointments and administrative matters;
- Supporting the firm’s multilingual marketing, business development and community outreach activities;
- Helping the firm develop relationships and engagement with different linguistic and cultural communities in Ireland;
- Where appropriate, having regard to the candidate’s qualifications, experience and competence, assisting with legal research, document preparation, file management and other legal support tasks under the direction and supervision of a solicitor; and
- Providing other appropriate administrative or legal support as directed by the supervising solicitor.
The nature and extent of any legal support work will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience and competence. All legal work will be carried out under the direction and supervision of a solicitor. The successful candidate will not provide legal advice independently.
Languages
We are particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in Arabic, Cantonese, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish or other languages, in addition to English.

Who We Are Looking For
Candidates should have:
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail;
- A professional approach to confidentiality and sensitive client information;
- The ability to work independently on assigned tasks while following appropriate supervision and instructions; and
- An interest in legal services and working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
A legal qualification or previous legal experience is desirable but not essential.

Pay: €15.00-€20.00 per hour
