About the Role
We are seeking a Graduate, or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic project teams working in the rail sector. The successful candidate will will commercially manage several projects working within the Rail/OLE/Civils sector of the business. Projects range in value from £5,000 to £5,000,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain positive relationships with Clients, Senior Management and Staff at all times
- Produce high standard of Client Commercial submissions including Applications for Payment and Variations submissions to enable timely agreement
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Finance and other Stakeholders to provide accurate Commercial reports to Clients and Senior Management
- Assist with managing costs and forecasts against contractual baseline
- Support to procure Subcontractors and manage their accounts
- Monitor site records
- Assist with driving cost control and margin improvement with project teams
- Help to identify Risk, opportunity and value engineering.
Requirements
- Recent Commercial Management qualification
- Effective communication and relationship building skills with clients, staff and suppliers
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, numerical and negotiation skills.
Desirable
- Experience of NEC, ICC and Public Works contracts
- IT competent including Microsoft Office packages
- Experience of working on civils or rail projects.
