We are now seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director of MICE Sales to join our award-winning commercial team.
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and works closely with the Events Manager, ADOS, Revenue Team, General Manager and wider group leadership team.
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving residential corporate group business for Mount Juliet Estate across domestic and international markets, while providing day-to-day leadership and commercial direction to the Sales and Events teams. The successful candidate will lead proactive MICE sales activity, market engagement, account development and business conversion, while ensuring strong enquiry management, pipeline performance and revenue delivery across the Events function. This role is ideally suited to a commercially driven hospitality professional with strong MICE experience, proven leadership capability and a track record of building relationships, developing teams and delivering results.
The Role
As Director of MICE Sales, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, developing and converting residential corporate group business opportunities for Mount Juliet Estate.
You will represent the estate within key domestic and international MICE markets, building relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, professional conference organisers (PCOs), destination management companies (DMCs), incentive houses and industry partners. Through consistent market engagement, account development and proactive sales activity, you will drive new business opportunities while strengthening existing client relationships.
You will ensure that enquiry handling, pipeline management, conversion performance and commercial outcomes are effectively managed and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities
Proactive MICE Sales & Business Development

Drive the acquisition of residential corporate group business across domestic and international markets.

Develop and implement targeted sales plans to grow meetings, conferences, incentive travel, corporate retreats and group event business.

Generate new business through proactive prospecting, sales calls, client visits, networking and market engagement.

Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, event agencies, PCOs, DMCs, incentive houses and key industry stakeholders.

Conduct client presentations, site inspections, familiarisation visits and contract negotiations.

Represent Mount Juliet Estate at industry events, trade shows, networking forums and client showcases.

Maintain a strong presence within key MICE markets and identify emerging business opportunities.
Account Development & Revenue Growth

Develop strategic account plans for key clients and target sectors.

Drive repeat business through effective account management and relationship development.

Maximise revenue opportunities across accommodation, meetings, events, dining, golf and ancillary services.

Work closely with the Revenue Team to optimise business mix, pricing strategy and profitability.

Monitor competitor activity, market trends and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.

Deliver sales targets through strong pipeline development, conversion and account growth.
Commercial Oversight of Events Function

Provide commercial leadership and oversight to the Events team.

Work closely with the Events Manager and Executives to ensure enquiries are managed efficiently and consistently.

Monitor enquiry handling standards, response times, conversion ratios and pipeline performance.

Support the team in securing and converting high-value opportunities.

Ensure effective communication and handover processes between Sales, Events and Operations.

Drive a culture of accountability, commercial focus and exceptional client service.
Reporting & Performance Management

Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and account information within CRM systems.

Prepare regular forecasts, pipeline reports and performance updates.

Analyse sales performance and conversion metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning processes.
The Ideal Candidate

Minimum 3 years' hotel sales experience, ideally with significant exposure to the MICE sector.

Proven track record in proactive business development and revenue generation within hospitality.

Experience selling meetings, conferences, incentives, corporate retreats or group business.

Luxury hotel, resort or high-quality hospitality experience preferred.

Strong understanding of the domestic and international MICE marketplace.

Established network of corporate, agency and event industry contacts desirable.

Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and presentation skills.

Strong commercial awareness and results-driven mindset.

Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting and conversion performance.
