There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available in Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Pelvic Pain & Pelvic Health in University Hospital Galway (UHG).
Galway University Hospitals (GUH’s) Physiotherapy Service comprises over 120 staff across University Hospital Galway (UHG) and Merlin Park University Hospital (MPUH), delivering comprehensive acute, rehabilitation, and specialist physiotherapy services to support patient care across the full spectrum of hospital activity.
Services are provided for evening and weekend on-call
GUH is a student undergraduate placement education site
The Women’s Health physiotherapy service is delivered by a team of a Clinical Specialist in Uro- Gynaecology, Clinical Specialist Pelvic Pain & Pelvic Health, Senior in Pelvic Health & Continence and 2 staff grades, providing a range of ante- natal , post natal and gynaecological services.
The National Women’s and Infants Health Programme (NWIHP) have developed a framework for managing endometriosis across Primary Care, Secondary Care and a Specialist Complex Endometriosis Service. Within the West North West region, a Secondary Care service is being established in GUH. Women who have significant disease requiring specialist care will be referred to one of the two specialised endometriosis centres being established in Tallaght and Cork.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Pelvic Pain and Pelvic Health from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
HSE West and North West: Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in pelvic health to include working with a caseload covering urogynae, pelvic pain and complex pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Experience in leading and supervising a team of physiotherapists
- Experience in developing and implementing pathways of care to enhance patient outcomes
