Job Title: Special Needs Assistant (SNA)
As a Special Needs Assistant (SNA), you will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with special needs in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with the classroom teachers to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students. Your tasks will include personal and practical support, such as helping with movement, communication, problem solving, and daily activities.
It is important that you are able to work patiently, considerately and professionally with students, as well as communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents. You will also need to undertake appropriate training and continuously update your skills to meet the needs of the students.
Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred, as well as strong communication skills, an understanding of diversity and the ability to work in a team. Priority is given to people who show a commitment to the welfare of the students and who help to foster a healthy and supportive learning environment.
