We are currently looking for a full-time CNC programmer to join our progressive and expanding company.
Our company is an established specialist joinery company based in Meath for over 40 years, who will offer you the opportunity to work on bespoke designs for Private and Commercial Sectors.
This is a permanent, full-time position with an immediate start. 39 hours per week.
(Degree level or equivalent) with over five years’ experience in programming CNC laser and milling machine. Specific experience minimum of 3 years in Radan, Cad/Cam and Autodesk Inventor. The candidate will be responsible for programming and production of product, setting, and proving new products. Ability to read design drawings and schematics and carry out work as per instruction and to understand and interpret 2D & 3D Auto Cad drawing.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading drawings etc.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to manufacture large number of parts
- Monitoring manufactured and raw material stock levels to avoid supply shortages
- Adhere to all quality requirements, and customer requirements.
- Support the preparation for and hosting of visits, inspections and audits from customers, and quality & regulatory bodies within assigned manufacturing areas
- Monitor tooling and equipment in areas of responsibility and reports repairs, upgrades or replacement to maintenance
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- CNC Programming – experience producing hi-spec, high volume precision machined components for Injection mould manufacture and precision tools required for plastic and engineering industries
Requirements:
- Ideal experience in working on Doosan/Hartford/Mazak machines with fusion 360 software
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
Qualification & Experience
- 3 & 5 Axis CNC Milling and Programming
- Laser Welding and Engraving
- Wire EDM operation
- Manual turning and Milling
- Attention to detail and working to high tolerances is critical
- Comprehension of engineering drawings is a must

- Minimum 3 years’ programming and setting machines (post any training or apprenticeship)
- Experienced in programming directly from drawings and solid models
- Offline programming of components using Gibbs Cam design package or similar
- Broad range of experience in machining different materials
- Experience in metal cutting and the latest tooling & cutter concepts
- Precision machining to tolerance (10 microns)
- Experience of high volume manufacturing and meeting production targets
- Have flexibility, a growth mindset, and an ability to communicate effectively with plenty of initiative
- Be methodical, analytical and precise.
- Ability to interpret drawings, geometric dimensions and tolerances.
