Steel Erector
Location: West Dublin
Reports To: Site Manager / Contracts Manager
Job Purpose
LMH Engineering is seeking an experienced Steel Erector to join our growing site operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of structural steelwork on a variety of commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, and data centre projects throughout Ireland.
The role requires a strong understanding of structural drawings, safe lifting practices, and the ability to work effectively as part of a site team while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
· Erect and install structural steel components in accordance with drawings and specifications.
· Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
· Align, position and secure steel members using appropriate tools and equipment.
· Assist with lifting operations and steel installation activities.
· Install steel beams, columns, bracing systems, staircases and secondary steelwork.
· Carry out bolting and fitting activities to required tolerances.
· Work closely with site management and other trades to ensure project milestones are achieved.
· Conduct daily checks on tools and equipment.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
· Report any hazards, defects or incidents immediately.
Essential Requirements
· Minimum 3 years' experience in structural steel erection.
· Proven experience working on construction or industrial projects.
· Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings.
· Safe Pass.
· Manual Handling Certification.
· Working at Heights Certification.
· Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
Desirable Requirements
· MEWP certification.
· Slinger/Signaller certification.
· Teleporter experience.
· Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
· IPAF certification.
