We are looking to recruit an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Carlow. The successful candidate will provide automation support across DeltaV, Siemens S7 PLC and OEM automation systems within a regulated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong automation troubleshooting experience, together with experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and a good understanding of cGMP requirements.

Assist with field testing for network connectivity, instrumentation devices and software functionality.

Diagnose automation issues and propose appropriate resolutions.

Liaise with vendors to resolve issues relating to automation equipment.

Complete daily system backup checks where required.

Complete scheduled monthly, two-monthly and yearly checks on OEM and DeltaV equipment.

Complete recipe downloads and updates for OEM and DeltaV systems.

Review SDLC documentation during investigations, including Functional Specifications, Design Specifications and Code Reviews.

Comply with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements in the performance of day-to-day activities.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Automation Engineering role.

Minimum 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

experience with Siemens PLCs (S7), DeltaV and/or Historian systems.

Siemens S7 PLC and/or DeltaV experience is essential.

Experience troubleshooting OEM and DeltaV systems.

Familiarity with networking and IT.

Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, SharePoint, Word and PowerPoint.

Very strong written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent.

Fluent English, both written and verbal.
