Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort is currently recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Health Club Supervisor to join our dynamic and professional team.
Supervisor will work closely with the management team to support the smooth and efficient operation of the department. The successful candidate will take an active role in supervising team members, maintaining exceptional standards, delivering outstanding guest and member experiences, and ensuring that the Health Club operates safely, efficiently and in line with the high standards expected of a 5-star resort.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated fitness professional who enjoys working with people, leading a team and creating a welcoming environment for guests and members.
Please note that the role will involve evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Health Club management team with the daily operation and organisation of the department

Supervise, guide and support Health Club team members throughout their shifts

Ensure consistently high standards are maintained in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures
-
Provide a warm, professional and attentive service to all hotel guests, Health Club members and visitors
-
Respond to guest, member and colleague requests promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
-
Act as a point of contact for the team during assigned shifts and escalate any concerns to management where appropriate

Ensure the Health Club, gym, changing facilities and other relevant areas are clean, presentable and maintained to the required standards

Carry out regular checks of facilities and equipment and promptly report any maintenance, safety or operational issues

Ensure all departmental checklists, opening and closing procedures and daily operational tasks are completed accurately and on time

Assist in monitoring health, safety and hygiene standards throughout the department

Ensure team members are fully informed of daily activities, events, bookings, promotions and any other relevant information

Assist with the organisation and delivery of daily team training and encourage continuous learning and development

Support the onboarding and training of new team members where required

Lead by example by demonstrating excellent customer service, professionalism and a positive attitude

Assist colleagues with their duties during busy periods to ensure the department continues to operate efficiently

Attend scheduled departmental meetings and actively contribute ideas, feedback and solutions

Communicate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless experience for guests and members
-
Assist with the organisation and delivery of fitness and Health Club activities where required
-
Monitor member and guest feedback and bring relevant matters to the attention of management

Assist with maintaining accurate departmental records and completing relevant reports

Promote a positive, welcoming and professional atmosphere within the Health Club

Ensure all procedures relating to guest safety, facility use and emergency situations are followed correctly

Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Health Club management team
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a confident and motivated fitness professional with a genuine passion for health, wellness and customer service.
They will ideally have:

Previous experience working within a fitness, leisure, gym, spa or Health Club environment

A strong fitness background is essential
-
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience would be an advantage
-
Excellent customer service skills with a genuine commitment to exceeding guest and member expectations

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational and time-management abilities

The confidence and ability to motivate, support and develop other team members

A positive and approachable personality with the ability to build strong relationships with guests, members and colleagues

The ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused in a busy environment

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptionally high standards

The ability to work independently, use initiative and make appropriate decisions when required

A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and busy periods

A strong understanding of health, safety, cleanliness and operational standards within a fitness or leisure environment

A willingness to continuously develop their knowledge and skills within the health and fitness industry
