Established in 2001, Eirdata are specialists in cleanroom validation, commissioning & compliance. We provide these range of services to the pharmaceutical, medical devices and healthcare sectors primarily. In 2013, Eirdata was acquired by ESS Group. ESS Group is a multi-disciplinary engineering services organisation comprising of ESS, Eirdata, Critical Airflow, Predictive Maintenance, and PREMA.
Summary of the Role
This is a hybrid engineering role that combines hands-on validation, commissioning and compliance activities with planning and scheduling responsibilities. The role involves carrying out the validation, commissioning and compliance of HVAC systems, laboratory equipment and associated cleanrooms, including fault finding, troubleshooting, testing and technical support during commissioning and validation activities.
In addition, the role includes planning and scheduling responsibilities using the
Salesforce Field Service Dispatcher Console in accordance with the
Planning and Scheduling Dispatch Console SOP. This includes managing Work Orders and Service Appointments, coordinating engineers, equipment and resources, optimising schedules, and supporting the efficient delivery and timely completion of customer work. Working closely with the Regional Manager, planning team, Service Managers and Project Managers to coordinate resources, manage priorities and ensure customer requirements and project timelines are met.
This is a travelling role within the Dublin / Greater Dublin area for validation and site work, complemented by office-based planning duties.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
Validation, Commissioning & Compliance-
Responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, testing and validation of HVAC systems, including GxP HVAC systems, LEVs and fume cupboards, and associated utilities systems.

Perform HEPA filter integrity testing.

Perform Particle count testing.

Perform and verify cleanroom air change rate and differential pressure testing.

Complete validation documentation and check-out sheets, following Good Documentation Practices (knowledge of ALCOA+ principles).

Provide technical support to engineers, management and customers.

Ensure all PMs and repairs are prioritised and completed promptly.

Liaise with contractors and customers on site and plan day-to-day work.

Respond to, follow up on, and close out customer enquiries, particularly day-to-day repairs and issues.

Ensure all works are completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with site safety standards, including works completed by Eirdata sub-contractors.

Support new installations, modifications and improvements to existing systems.
Planning & Scheduling
- Create and manage Work Orders, ensuring the correct Account and Contact details are recorded, and that Purchase Order (PO) and quotation references are linked prior to scheduling.
- Schedule Service Appointments using the Salesforce Field Service Dispatcher Console, assigning engineers, dates and time slots based on skills, availability and business priorities.
- Coordinate multi-engineer projects where required.
- Confirm pre-job readiness by ensuring all required documentation, including RAMS and/or Take 5 risk assessments, is completed, equipment and materials are available, and customer attendance dates are confirmed.
- Monitor and manage Work Orders throughout their lifecycle (New/Backlog, Planned, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed, Review and Closure), ensuring timely progression and resolution of outstanding actions.
- Ensure all service reports are uploaded, and mandatory Work Order information is completed prior to Supervisor review and final job closure.
- Coordinate and schedule follow-up visits, remedial works and additional customer requests as required.
- Develop and maintain engineer schedules, optimising resource allocation, engineer utilisation and working closely with the operations/planning department.

Liaise with engineers, project managers, customers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain and update the planning and scheduling system to ensure accurate, real-time visibility of engineer availability, job progress and resource allocation.
Health, Safety, Compliance & Training-
Create and review RAMS.

Review and sign off reports for customers; track non-conformances (NCs) on reports.

Ensure all documentation is complete, up to date, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.

Promote the reporting of near misses and good catches within the team.
Education & Qualifications-
Relevant engineering qualification, i.e. Level 7 or Level 8 Mechanical or Building Services Engineering degree, combined with practical hands-on experience.

Candidates with a trade background (Mechanical/Electrical) and technician-level experience working with HVAC and utility systems will also be considered.

3–5 years' hands-on experience with, and knowledge of, HVAC systems.
Required Skills
- Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Salesforce Field Service, or willingness to learn, is an advantage.

Excellent communication skills; a confident and effective decision-maker with a proven ability to influence others.

Strong organisational and planning ability, with a methodical approach to scheduling and prioritising work.

Team player with a flexible approach, also able to work under own initiative.

Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.

Competent level of technical writing and understanding of technical documentation.

Full, clean driving licence required.
