Role Purpose
Join our team in ensuring the provision of a safe and exceptional racing surface, jumps, and ancillary features such as stables and parade rings.
The Maintenance & Facilities Assistant supports the day-to-day operation, upkeep, and safety of buildings and facilities. The role involves assisting with maintenance tasks, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, and supporting compliance with health and safety standards.
Leopardstown Racecourse is situated on a 220acre estate in south Dublin which demands meticulous maintenance. The responsibilities and competencies required for the role of Maintenance & Facilities Assistant at Leopardstown Racecourse include:
Key Responsibilities
Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of buildings and equipment
Support the implementation of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
Carry out basic repairs (e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry tasks where appropriate)
Assist in setting up rooms, workspaces, and facilities for operational needs
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards
Report faults, damages, or risks promptly to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager
Liaise with contractors and support on-site work as required
Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and procedures
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance areas and storage spaces
Assist with stock control and ordering of maintenance supplies and equipment
Support emergency maintenance and response activities when required
Skills and Experience
Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair work
Good awareness of health & safety practices
Strong organisational and time management skills
