For more than 60 years, the Group has been committed to helping cities and regions contribute to their development by creating, improving and modernising their transport infrastructure with sustainability, accessibility and innovation at the heart of our designs. With over 10,300 colleagues globally and around 1000 in the UK & Ireland we are growing significantly and seeking out the very best talent to join the SYSTRA signature team and be part of leading the way in infrastructure design.
Context:
SYSTRA is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant with a strong background in the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) role. Joining our dedicated in-house safety team, you will play a key part in supporting the safe and compliant delivery of projects across Ireland, working closely with clients, designers, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams. The role will be based in our city centre office in Dublin or Cork as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
Missions/Main Duties:
In this role, you will work closely with SYSTRA’s 3S Team (health, safety & security) to drive safety initiatives in Ireland with support from colleagues across the business.
A key part of the role will be responsibility for fulfilling the duties of the PSDP in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. You will review designs and designer risk assessments to support compliance with health and safety legislation and industry best practice, while contributing to design coordination meetings, site meetings, and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
The role will also involve reviewing contractor safety documentation, supporting contractor safety management processes, and overseeing dedicated projects, including associated financial responsibilities. In addition, you will contribute broader health and safety consultancy services for clients and provide specialist input into project bids and tender submissions.

You will have experience working in a PSDP coordination role and a strong understanding of safety in design, construction safety, and the duties associated with the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) role. You will also bring experience in bid preparation and in defining or reviewing health and safety requirements as part of project submissions.
We are looking for a professional with strong report-writing skills, excellent time management, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects. A flexible approach to travel is important, as the role will require attendance at sites and project locations across Ireland.
You should hold a relevant Health and Safety Degree or Diploma that supports membership of IOSH, or an Engineering degree with appropriate post-qualification health and safety training.
Chartered IOSH membership or Chartered Engineer status would be preferrable.
