About Kent Stainless
Kent Stainless is an established engineering and fabrication business based in Ardcavan, Co. Wexford. We design and manufacture precision-engineered products and systems for demanding sectors including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, construction and public realm.
Our work is defined by tight tolerances, full traceability and delivery programmes that cannot slip. We are investing heavily in automation and digital systems, including robotic welding, tube laser cutting and digital drawing and quality control.
The Role
We are looking for a Materials Coordinator to take ownership of the flow of one of our highest-volume manufacturing programmes — from the shop floor, through our external finishing and assembly partners, to final delivery.
This is a hands-on role. You will know well in advance what is due to move, make sure it will be ready, and clear obstacles before they turn into delays. You will spend as much time on the floor as you will at a desk.
Reports to: Programme Lead / Director of Engineering
What You Will Do
- Maintain the forward plan for the programme — what moves where, and when.
- Run a weekly look-ahead: project what is coming, check readiness and flag gaps early, with the owner and recovery action named.
- Keep our external partners continuously supplied so their lines never stand idle.
- Make sure every dispatch is complete — product, all loose components, paperwork signed off and transport arranged.
- Manage batch replenishment of stocked components so they are released to production ahead of need.
- Coordinate quality inspection visits so completed work is released without waiting.
- Work the floor daily, picking up and clearing issues — missing parts, fixings, drawings or instructions.
- Track work through external processes and back into the plan.
- Remove the recurring causes of delay rather than working around them.
The successful applicant will take ownership and hold responsibility to ensure the flow works:
- Setting the dispatch sequence to our external partners.
- Holding a dispatch that is not complete.
- Scheduling quality inspection visits.
What We Are Looking For
- Engineering or manufacturing background, with production, planning or supply chain experience.
- Comfortable coordinating priorities and challenging programme risks
- Credible on a shop floor and with external suppliers — able to hold people to a date.
- Able to read engineering drawings and bills of materials, with a good understanding of fabrication processes.
- Competent user of ERP or MRP systems. Experience of SAP Business One is an advantage.
- Organised and forward-looking, and happier preventing problems than reacting to them.
What Success Looks Like
- On-time customer delivery, complete-kit readiness, subcontract turnaround and sustained planned output.
- Nothing leaves the building incomplete.
- Problems are seen weeks out, not on the day.
What we will offer you:
- A role with genuine authority and visible impact on a critical programme.
- An established Irish manufacturer investing seriously in automation and digital systems.
