Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our busy warehouse and shop floor team on a part-time basis. This is a physical, hands-on role at the heart of our day-to-day operations. You will play a key part in ensuring our shelves are stocked, our online orders are dispatched accurately and on time, and our customers receive the highest standard of service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys an active role in a busy retail environment and wants to be part of a well-established Irish business.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management & Receiving:
- Receiving, checking, and booking in incoming deliveries accurately
- Putting away stock in the correct locations across all departments including Hardware,
Electrical, Paint, Bathroom, and Garden
- Ensuring stock is stored safely, securely, and in line with company procedures
- Labelling and pricing stock as required
- Assisting with regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies to management
Online Order Fulfilment:
- Picking stock for online customer orders accurately and efficiently using order management systems
- Packing orders to a high standard to ensure products arrive undamaged
- Preparing orders for dispatch, including correct labelling and courier documentation
- Maintaining a smooth, organised pick-and-pack workflow during busy dispatch periods
- Liaising with the management team regarding stock availability and order queries
Shop Floor & General Duties:
- Replenishing product on the shop floor to ensure the full complement of the product range is available for customers
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment throughout the stockroom and shop floor at all times
- Assisting with merchandising and display projects as directed
- Supporting colleagues across all departments during busy periods and peak trading times
- Adhering to all Health & Safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual, and committed — someone the team can count on
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and being on their feet throughout the shift
- Detail-oriented and accurate when picking and processing orders
- A good team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work at pace in a busy warehouse and retail environment
- Flexible with availability including weekdays, weekends, and peak periods (e.g. Bank Holidays, sales events)
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stock room, or retail environment is a distinct advantage but not essential — full training will be provided
- Basic computer literacy is beneficial for use of our order management systems
Pay: €14.15-€15.00 per hour
