About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and patient-focused individual to join our modern boutique dental practice as a Trainee Dental Nurse / Front Desk .
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and professional dental team, combining clinical dental nursing duties with front-of-house and patient care responsibilities. We are also open to applicants interested in a trainee dental nursing role, with a study package available for the right candidate.
As a key member of our team, you will help deliver an exceptional patient experience from first contact through to treatment completion, while supporting clinicians with chairside assistance and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and infection control.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Patient Experience
- Meet and greet patients, providing a warm and professional welcome.
- Manage the appointment diary efficiently, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling appointments.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to treatment enquiries, converting enquiries into appointments where appropriate.
- Ensure all pre-appointment documentation is completed and accurately added to patient records.
- Provide patients with clear information regarding their appointments and treatment journey.
- Respond promptly, sympathetically, and professionally to patient concerns and queries.
- Process payments, arrange follow-up appointments, and request patient feedback and testimonials.
- Create and maintain office correspondence, including letters, emails, and memos.
- Manage insurance claims, including confirming cover and processing claims.
- Liaise with clinicians and team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Contribute to quality assurance systems, audits, and team meetings.
Dental Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists during clinical procedures.
- Maintain exemplary standards of cross-infection prevention and control.
- Prepare and sterilise instruments and treatment rooms.
- Assist with patient management before, during, and after treatment.
- Use dental software systems to maintain accurate patient records.
- Support the smooth running of daily clinical operations.
- Check patients in and out of the clinic and assist with reception duties as required.

- Hold a Leaving Certificate (preferred).
- Have excellent spoken and written English.

Working Hours
- Full-time position.
- Flexible shifts and hours, including one evening shift per week.
