We are delighted to announce the opening of a brand-new community pharmacy on the north side of Cork City and are looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused Full time Pharmacy Counter Assistants to join our team.
As one of our founding team members, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment and delivering exceptional customer service. Working under the supervision of the pharmacist, you will assist customers with over-the-counter medicines, healthcare advice, and a wide range of pharmacy services while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
This position is ideal for someone who is positive, motivated and enjoys working with people. Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage, but applicants with strong retail and customer service experience and a genuine interest in health and wellbeing are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly, professional and compassionate manner.
- Assist customers with over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products, referring to the pharmacist when appropriate.
- Support the pharmacist in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care.
- Process sales accurately and efficiently using the pharmacy till system.
- Merchandise and replenish stock, ensuring shelves are well presented and products are appropriately displayed.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates.
- Assist with all front-of-shop duties and contribute to the efficient daily operation of the pharmacy.
- Maintain high professional standards and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report any errors, concerns or safety issues promptly to the Supervising Pharmacist.
- Build positive relationships with customers, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous pharmacy or healthcare retail experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for customer care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using computerised systems.
- Flexible, reliable and eager to learn.
