SENIOR HIRE & TRANSPORT COORDINATOR
Athboy Plant Hire Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Hire & Transport Coordinator to join our busy team.
This is a key role involving the day-to-day coordination of plant and equipment hire, transport scheduling and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be highly organised, confident working in a fast-paced environment and experienced within the plant hire, haulage or construction industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing customer hire enquiries, bookings and off-hires
- Coordinating the daily delivery and collection of plant and machinery
- Planning efficient routes and schedules for drivers
- Liaising with customers, drivers, operators and workshop staff
- Preparing hire contracts and ensuring all information is recorded accurately
- Monitoring equipment availability and resolving scheduling issues
- Providing excellent customer service
- Supporting and supervising the hire and transport operations
- Ensuring all relevant transport and safety procedures are followed
- Assisting with invoicing queries and general hire-desk administration
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a senior hire-desk, transport-planning or similar role
- Good knowledge of plant machinery and transport operations
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Good computer and administration skills
- A professional, dependable and positive approach
- Knowledge of transport compliance and drivers’ hours would be an advantage
