Aaltonen International Moving & Storage is a long-established, family-run business based in Cork. Established in 1978, we have been providing professional domestic and international moving and storage services for almost five decades.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable, hardworking and versatile Removals Driver / Operations & Warehouse Operative to join our team.
This is a genuinely varied, hands-on position across Aaltonen International Moving & Storage and our sister company, Moving Supplies & Packaging.
No Two Days Are the Same
One of the biggest advantages of this role is its variety.
This is not a position where you will be doing the same task in the same place every day. You could be carrying out a household move in Cork one day, assisting with a commercial relocation the next, making deliveries, preparing orders in our warehouse or helping with a specialist packing or crating project.
You will regularly work in different environments, different locations and with new customers and colleagues.
The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being active, meeting people and having variety in their working day rather than being based at the same workstation or carrying out repetitive duties.
Removals & Driving
A major part of the position will involve working with our removals and storage team.
Duties will include:
- Driving company Luton vans
- Carrying out household and commercial removals
- Loading and unloading furniture, boxes and customers' belongings
- Packing and wrapping furniture and household goods for transport
- Protecting customers' furniture and property during moves
- Delivering and collecting goods
- Assisting with storage collections and deliveries
- Preparing goods for national and international transportation
- Working as part of a team to complete moves safely and efficiently
- Communicating professionally with customers throughout the working day
Moving Supplies & Packaging
The successful candidate will also assist with our sister company, Moving Supplies & Packaging, which supplies moving, storage and professional packaging products throughout Ireland.
Depending on the requirements of the business, duties may include:
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Preparing orders for dispatch
- Delivering customer orders
- Receiving and organising stock
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- General warehouse duties
- Assisting with stock management
- Preparing specialist packaging for customers
- Occasionally assisting with customised crating and bespoke packaging projects
- Helping prepare unusual, valuable or specialist items for safe transport and storage
Driving Requirements
Applicants must be capable and confident driving a Luton van.
A full valid B driving licence is required.
You should be comfortable driving a larger commercial vehicle and travelling to customers' homes, businesses and other locations throughout Cork and further afield when required.
Previous experience driving commercial vans or working within removals, logistics or deliveries would be advantageous.
Forklift Experience
Previous forklift experience and/or a valid forklift licence would be an advantage, although it is not essential.

Previous experience in removals, warehousing, logistics, deliveries or similar practical roles would be beneficial, but we also recognise that the right person can be trained.
Reliability, attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn are particularly important to us.
