We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a small residential development. The project is currently in its early phase, with minor demolition works completed and foundation excavation about to begin.
This is a key role requiring strong leadership, communication, and on-site management skills to ensure the project runs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades on site
- Ensure contractors are properly briefed and given accurate information
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards (HSE compliance)
- Carry out daily site inspections and risk assessments
- Read and interpret construction drawings, providing clear direction to site teams
- Monitor progress and ensure works are completed on schedule
- Keep accurate site records, reports, and documentation
- Act as the main point of contact on site, ensuring smooth communication between all parties
- Be visible and present on site, actively managing works rather than office-based
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential construction projects
- Strong knowledge of groundworks and early-stage construction (foundations, excavation)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings confidently
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple trades
- Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude
