We are looking for a Skilled Pedestrian Fire Door Installer & Service Technician to join our dedicated technical team. If you are a professional with specialist experience in fire-rated pedestrian doors and a commitment to life-safety standards, we want to hear from you.
The Role
This is a high-precision technical role focused on the installation, compliance, and maintenance of pedestrian fire doors within industrial and pharmaceutical environments.
- Installation: Leading the installation of pedestrian fire doors, ensuring all frames, leaves, and hardware meet strict fire certification and pharmaceutical-grade standards.
- Maintenance & Inspection: Executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fire door inspections to ensure continued compliance and safety.
- Precision Commissioning: Installing and adjusting specialized door hardware, including closers, panic hardware, and electronic access control components.
- Safety & Documentation: Maintaining rigorous safety standards and completing accurate service reports to confirm fire-rating integrity.
What You Bring
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience specifically in the installation and servicing of pedestrian fire doors. Knowledge of fire-stopping and regulatory compliance is essential.
- Technical Skills: Strong carpentry and mechanical skills, with an eye for detail regarding door clearances, seals, and alignment.
- Tool Proficiency: Total comfort with a wide range of battery power tools and hand tools required for precision fit-outs.
- Communication: Ability to represent GEA Industrial professionally on-site and provide clear technical feedback to clients and team members.
- Resilience: Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including heavy lifting and working in active site-based environments.
Requirements
- Licensing: Full clean Irish Driver’s Licence (Must be 23+ for fleet insurance purposes).
- Safety Certs: Current Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificate.
- Preferred (but not essential): Fire Door Inspection certification, Forklift Licence, Working at Heights (WAH) Training, or IPAF Licence.
