The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the packages and the contracts. The role holder is expected to drive relationships, performance, and morale within their team, with the Project Delivery Partner and the Contractor. The Associate Director is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of all aspects of delivery, providing leadership and direction in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. The role holder is accountable for forward-looking, identifying and managing risks, developing key stakeholder relationships, and establishing robust and agile governance across the integration team (including the Contractor and the Project Delivery Partner).
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing end-to-end project delivery, aligning programme, milestones and client objectives.
- Ensuring fiscal integrity, governance and contribute to long-term strategic development.
- Empowering teams, foster inclusion and collaborate with stakeholders to drive excellence and innovation.
- Managing sub-programme delivery, aligning strategy, resources and performance to achieve defined outcomes and benefits.
- Establishing an effective delivery environment across people, processes, systems and governance.
- Maintaining excellence in safety, risk, quality and compliance, ensuring robust programme controls and documentation.
- Building high-performing teams and trusted stakeholder relationships, driving collaboration, innovation and sustainable outcomes.
You’ll need to have:
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience within heavy civils, rail, engineering, infrastructure projects. Ideally with tunnelling and piling elements with heavy structures. Client facing project management experience and exposure to specialist contractor environments highly desirable.
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the rail, transport or civil infrastructure sector.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
- Exposure to NEC4 contracts highly desirable or public private partnership environments.
