We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastry Commis Chef to join our award-winning culinary team here at the Tower Hotel, Waterford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about pastry and desserts and is looking to develop their skills and experience within a busy hotel kitchen.
The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and passionate about pastry, with excellent attention to detail and a desire to learn and develop as part of an experienced kitchen team.

They should have a positive attitude, be comfortable working as part of a team and have a flexible approach to working hours, as the role will involve a mixture of midweek, weekend and evening shifts.
Experience and Responsibilities

A recognised culinary or pastry qualification would be an advantage.

Assist with the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, breads and other pastry items to the hotel's required standards.

Work closely with the Pastry Chef and wider kitchen team in the preparation and delivery of food service.

Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards consistently.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation within the pastry section.

Have an understanding of HACCP and food safety procedures and ensure these are followed at all times.

Ensure ingredients and products are stored, labelled and rotated correctly.

Assist with stock control and minimise food waste.

Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation.

Be enthusiastic about developing pastry skills and learning new techniques.

Be standards driven and committed to producing consistently high-quality food.

Have good communication and interpersonal skills and work effectively as part of the kitchen team.
