Ellab Ireland Calibration Technicians work across the Pharmaceutical and Biotech sectors and with the contractors and manufacturers allied to these industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution of calibrations as per site schedule and site procedures.
- Execution of scheduled and unscheduled work orders, where appropriate, as per site schedule and site procedures.
- Assist in equipment troubleshooting & instrumentation issues as necessary and support the wider maintenance team as and when required.
- Carry out Risk Assessment of instrumentation calibration steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
- Enter calibration certs onto the site Computerized Calibration Management System if applicable, as directed by the Site Instrumentation Manager.
- Maintain all documentation in an organised and controlled manner in compliance with GMP and FDA
- Work with operation teams as required facilitating calibration activities
- Carry out calibrations in a safe and timely manner
- Assisting with loop checks by confirming signal integrity between field instruments, control systems (PLC/DCS), and monitoring devices.
- Carry out corrective/reactive maintenance on Instrumentation as requested
- Support continuous improvement and promote quality and customer service
- Report work carried out in compliance with site-based reporting tools
- To be available and to undertake any site required training
- Update site system database as required
- Manage and prioritize workload to ensure that assigned activities are completed effectively and on time
- Drive a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with EHS standards and safe work practices.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors while ensuring adherence to site procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- The ideal candidate will hold a National Craft Certificate in Electrical Instrumentation or an equivalent third-level qualification
- A good knowledge of Calibration Systems and Automation/Controls system. Literacy in Computer Operating Systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or regulated manufacturing environment with supervisory or team lead experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
