Purpose of the role: The role of the Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Coordinator is to provide expert, person-centred nursing leadership and coordination across the haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) pathway. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care for patients and donors through comprehensive clinical assessment, care coordination, advocacy, education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team across acute and community settings. The post holder leads service development, quality improvement, education, audit, and research to support best practice, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient and donor outcomes within the HSCT programme.
St James’s Hospital is the National Centre for Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation. The Transplantation service forms an integral part of the Haematology department.
