About the Role
We are seeking a motivated 1st Year Electrical Apprentice to join our team in a modern manufacturing environment. In this role, you will progress your apprenticeship by gaining hands-on experience with electrical and control systems, working directly on manufacturing and pharmaceutical projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with the build, wiring, and integration of electrical control panels.
- Supporting machine electrical installations and system integration.
- Working around PLC-controlled automation equipment.
- Helping with testing, loop checking, and commissioning activities.
- Learning to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Collaborating with experienced electricians and engineers on live projects.
What You’ll Learn & Work On
You will gain practical, day-to-day experience in:
- Panel building and wiring
- PLCs and automation systems
- Machine electrical integration
- Pneumatics - working with air-driven actuators, valves and differential pressure instruments
- ATEX & intrinsically safe circuits — Learning safety standards for hazardous environments and how to wire equipment safely.
- Motors — Hands-on experience with motor wiring, VSDs and troubleshooting.
- Loop checking and commissioning
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum O5 in Leaving Certificate Maths and pass level in 4 other subjects
- Interest in Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude. Good work ethic and solutions focused.
