We are seeking an experienced and dependable Group Warehouse Manager to join the team at Select Technology Group. About the Role:
The Group Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and continuous improvement of the Group warehouse operation. The role will sit under the Head of Warehousing & Logistics and will operate as a key partner to the Logistics and Installation Manager, Retail Operations, Purchasing, E-commerce, Finance and Customer Service.
The role is accountable for ensuring that goods are received, stored, picked, packed, dispatched, transferred, returned and controlled accurately and efficiently. A key priority in the first year will be to re-organise warehouse practices, strengthen supervisory accountability, improve stock discipline, clarify service-level expectations with internal departments and create a more consistent shared-service model across the Group.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Warehouse Operations
Lead daily goods-in, stock control, storage, picking packing, dispatch, transfers and returns activities across the Group Warehouse
Operating Model and Re-organisation
Redesign warehouse team structures, roles, standards and routines to create clear accountability and consistent ways of working.
Stock Accuracy & Control
Improve inventory accuracy, cycle counting, stock adjustments, write-offs, damages, supplier discrepancies and stock investigation practices.
Service to Internal Customers
Create clear service-level expectations for stores, e-commerce, purchasing, logistics and customer service, reducing avoidable escalation and rework.
People Leadership
Develop supervisors and team members through clear objectives, daily briefs, one-to-ones, training, performance management and succession planning.
Productivity & Cost
Improve labour planning, warehouse layout, picking productivity, dispatch accuracy, space utilisation, overtime control and process efficiency.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain safe systems of work, training, MHE controls, manual handling standards, housekeeping, incident reporting and risk management.
Continuous Improvement
Use KPIs, root-cause analysis and employee input to reduce repeat failures, improve flow and embed practical operational discipline.
Requirements:
Minimum five years experience managing warehouse operations, stock control, dispatch and people in a fast paced environment.
Strong track record in improving productivity, accuracy, safety and service levels.
Experience managing supervisors and implementing operational change.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
Desirable:
Experience in retail, electricals, consumer electronics, e-commerce, B2B Distribution or shared service warehousing.
Exposure to WMS, ERP, stock control systems, continuous improvement and multi-company operations.
