O’Brien Cement is a Waterford based manufacturer of cement and other cementitious materials
Located in a modern production facility in Belview Port.
The company requires a laboratory technician to carry out daily quality tests on produced materials. The company's products conform to European quality standards and tests are carried out to prove conformity. As laboratory technician you would be working under the supervision of the laboratory manger.
Duties of Laboratory Technician:
- Prepares and performs tests of cement samples using established test methods and procedures
- Records all results clearly and accurately, and carries out preliminary analysis of data
- Communicates key results to department manger and colleagues
- Plans and organizes work on a daily and weekly basis, following discussion with manager
- Works efficiently and safely, following lab procedures in order to maintain high safety and quality standards
- Maintains laboratory stocks of raw materials and equipment
- Supports and covers for other team members
- Cleaning and checking of laboratory equipment.
- Stock control and maintenance of laboratory supplies.
- Tracking of samples in the laboratories.
- Filing, storage and stock maintenance of laboratory paperwork.
- Works quickly and accurately with minimal error
Ideal Applicants would have a minimum of level 7 degree
6 months experience in relative field
Interest in construction materials and career progression
Working Hours 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
