Practice Nurse (Part-Time) Vacancy
Urgently Needed
The Clinic is a busy, friendly GP practice based in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon. We are looking to welcome a part-time Practice Nurse to join our team of 2 GPs, 2 Nurses, 1 GPA/Phlebotomist, and excellent administration support.
Reporting to: GP Principal
Hours: Part-time with set hours per week (exact rota TBD).
Key Responsibilities
- Routine nursing care: phlebotomy, wound management, dressings, suture removal, ECGs.
- Administering childhood and adult vaccinations/injections.
- Assisting with the HSE Chronic Disease Management (CDM) programme and 24-hour ABPM monitoring.
- Running the nurse triage and call-back system for incoming queries (dedicated slot allocated for this in the working day).
- Operating the blood results phone line to deliver results to patients (post GP review).
- Managing clinical stock, equipment, and vaccine cold chain protocols.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to be a team player as part of a tight knit team, and also have ability to work independently within remit of practice nurse role & internal practice protocols.
- Must be comfortable with handling triage, callbacks, and managing incoming patient queries and delivering results over the phone.
- Proficient IT skills. Full training will be provided for our internal systems and Socrates GP software.
- Valid Irish work visa/EU/EEA citizenship.
The following experience & skills are a distinct advantage (but not mandatory): Previous Practice Nurse experience, Smear taking, Midwifery or Paediatric training.
