Travelodge Plus Dublin City Centre is currently seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. This is a key support role responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency within the kitchen, ensuring a high standard of hygiene, safety, and service at all times.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, this is a hands-on support role focused on maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene within the kitchen. You will play a key part in the smooth and efficient running of kitchen operations in a high-volume environment.
Working closely with the culinary team, you will ensure that all equipment, utensils, and work areas are clean, well-maintained, and service-ready at all times, while supporting overall kitchen performance and upholding health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, pot wash, and back-of-house areas at all times
- Operate the dishwashing and pot wash areas efficiently, ensuring all equipment, crockery, and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly
- Support chefs during busy service periods by ensuring equipment and utensils are readily available
- Dispose of kitchen waste in line with hotel and environmental procedures
- Carry out scheduled cleaning duties including floors, fridges, extraction units, and storage areas
- Ensure all cleaning is completed in accordance with departmental standards and HACCP requirements
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries safely and correctly
- Monitor and report breakages, damages, or equipment faults
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Follow all health & safety, hygiene, and fire regulations
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and wider hotel team to ensure smooth operations
- Assist in other areas of the hotel as required and support the team during high-volume periods
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- High attention to detail and passion for quality food
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
