Introduction:
GALRO have over twenty years’ experience as a leading provider of Social Care and clinical support services in Ireland.
Due to the continued expansion of our compliance department, we are now seeking to recruit a Compliance Assessor to join our team.
This role will be based out of our Mullingar District Office and will require some travel.
This diverse role includes opportunity for the successful candidate to engage with management, clinicians, service users, statutory bodies and regulatory authorities within the course of their duties.
Job purpose:
The Compliance Assessor has responsibility for maintaining documentation and practices auditing, overseen by the Compliance Manager.
The role involves onsite evaluations and audits, liaising with Service Managers in relation to all aspects of HIQA compliance and GALRO recording systems.
The Compliance Assessor will generate compliance plans and review operational documentation and policies as instructed by the Compliance Manager.
The compliance assessor will from time to time partake in HIQA inspections on behalf of the provider and in support of the Service Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities-
- Have in depth knowledge of S.I No. 367 of 2013 Health Act 2007.
- Understand the regulatory framework relevant to GALRO, particularly in relation to the rules, regulations, best practice and procedure in social care.
- Be familiar with care policies and document management systems and recommend policy or document updates, or the creation of new policies, as guided by the Compliance Manager.
- Support and assist centre management with the effective implementation of relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
- Evaluate and monitor services and generate accurate and concise compliance reports.
- Develop, implement and monitor record-keeping systems to ensure regulatory compliance in the centre.
- Audit care policies, practices, procedures, documents and systems within assigned centres across the organisation.
- Bring new regulatory requirements to the attention of the Service Manager and front-line staff.
- Review incident reports, notifications, risk management documents, restrictive practices, rights issues, IPC, complaints, physical environment, care plans and management systems which may be paper based or recorded on an electronic system.
- Assist Management and staff members to prepare for HIQA registration and monitoring inspections.
- Carry out unannounced bi-annual evaluations and annual service evaluations in each centre in accordance with Health Act 2007.
- Participate in preparing bi-annual evaluations reports as guided by the Compliance Manager.
- Identify training gaps in designated centres and advise HR of requirements for specialist training.
- Monitor and audit community and day programme services in line with the principles of New Directions.
Essential Skills:
- Hold a relevant qualification in social care.
- Have strong organisational and report writing skills.
- Have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Have experience working in a regulated social care setting.
- Have a strong understanding of HIQA standards and principles.
- Have up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and regulations pertaining to the provision of social care.

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
