About the Role
EverPower Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract from 1st September 2026 – 1st May 2027 (8 Months). This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to manage both day-to-day finance operations and higher-level financial reporting.
The successful candidate will work closely with management and internal teams to ensure accurate financial control, compliance, and reporting across the business.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and process purchase orders (POs) in line with company procedures
· Prepare, review, and post sales and purchase invoices
· Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and credit control
· Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly
· Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50
· Support month-end and year-end closing processes
· Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Irish regulations
· Assist with Corporation Tax (CT) returns in coordination with external advisors where required
· Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
· Assist in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting
· Produce management accounts and cash flow reports
· Coordinate with internal teams via Monday.com for project tracking and financial updates
· Monitor project costs and profitability, supporting operational decision-making
· Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and external accountants/auditors
· Support audit preparation, compliance, and documentation
· Handle general office administration and finance-related tasks
· Carry out any other ad hoc finance or administrative duties as required
Requirements (Essential)
· Minimum 2 years’ relevant accounting experience (mandatory)
· Proven experience across both transactional and reporting aspects of accounting
· Hands-on experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems
· Experience using CRM or project management tools
· Working knowledge of VAT, CT, and financial reporting requirements in Ireland
· Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
· High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Fluent English with strong communication skills
Desirable
· Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or Accounting Technician)
· Experience in renewable energy, construction, or project-based industries
· Familiarity with financial modelling and project-based accounting
· Experience working with subcontractors and cost tracking
