About the role:
The Plant Manager is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, tracking, and deployment of the company's construction plant, tools, and equipment. The role ensures that all assets are safely maintained, efficiently utilized, and readily available to support project delivery. Working closely with project teams, suppliers, and service providers, the Plant Manager oversees asset control, preventative maintenance, procurement, and compliance while driving cost efficiency and operational performance through effective use of Hilti ON! Track and other asset management systems.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the company's fleet of construction plant, machinery, tools, and equipment.

Oversee the allocation, mobilization, and demobilization of plant and equipment to project sites.

Maintain accurate asset records using Hilti ON!Track.

Monitor equipment utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

Schedule preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs.
-
Ensure all plant complies with health, safety, and statutory inspection requirements.

Coordinate equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimize project downtime.
-
Manage equipment procurement, disposal, and replacement planning.

Conduct regular plant audits and inventory checks.
-
Monitor fuel usage, operating costs, maintenance expenses, and plant performance.

Investigate missing, damaged, or underutilized assets and implement corrective actions.

Work closely with project managers, site managers, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability.

Manage external suppliers, service providers, and equipment rental companies.
-
Prepare monthly reports on plant utilization, maintenance, costs, and asset performance.

Develop and implement procedures for effective plant management and asset control.
-
Supervise plant yard personnel, mechanics, and equipment coordinators where applicable.
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years' experience in plant management within the construction industry.

Proven experience managing construction equipment and heavy machinery.

Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance planning and asset lifecycle management.

Experience using Hilti ON!Track asset management software.

Good understanding of construction health and safety regulations.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting systems.
