Job Description: General Operative
Location:Old Mill, Slane,
Reports to: Production & Warehouse Manager
Position Summary
As a General Operative in our manufacturing facility specialising in body care products, home
products, candles, and diffusers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of
production and warehousing activities. This role demands adherence to high standards of quality,
safety, and efficiency. You will be expected to contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and
compliant environment while supporting team goals and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Manufacturing
● Operate and maintain production machinery as per Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs).
● Assist in the Bulk mixing, assembly, packaging, and labeling of products, ensuring they
meet quality and presentation standards.
● Monitor production lines to identify and address inefficiencies or issues promptly.
● Conduct quality checks to ensure products comply with Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP) and company standards.
Warehousing and Inventory
● Receive, store, and organize raw materials and finished goods in line with inventory
procedures.
● Maintain accurate stock records, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies.

● Prepare and fulfill orders accurately and on time, ensuring proper handling and
packaging.
● Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as required (with appropriate
training and certification).
Health, Safety, and Compliance
● Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
● Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly and participate in safety drills and
training sessions.
● Follow SOPs to maintain compliance with legal, environmental, and company standards.
● Ensure workspaces are clean, organized, and free from safety risks, including proper
disposal of waste.
Operational Excellence
● Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production targets, quality
standards, and on-time delivery.
● Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
● Demonstrate flexibility by supporting other departments or tasks as required during peak
periods or staff shortages.
● Maintain a flexible approach to tasks that may fall outside of daily responsibilities to
support evolving business needs.
● Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve shared goals.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Production Efficiency: Achieve daily and weekly production targets.
● Quality Compliance: Adherence to GMP standards and zero defects in quality checks.
● Order Accuracy and Timeliness: Fulfill orders with 100% accuracy and on schedule.
● Health & Safety Compliance: Zero safety incidents or violations.
● Inventory Accuracy: Maintain stock variance within acceptable thresholds (e.g., <2%).
● Administration : Complete all daily/weekly manufacturing & dispatch reports as
required.
● Standards : Factory /Warehouse and Dispatch area to be kept to the highest standard
using the close down/ reset checklist daily.
Skills and Competencies
● Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate machinery and use warehouse management
systems.
● Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and accuracy in production and
warehousing tasks.
● Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting and moving items in a fast-paced environment.
● Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve production or warehousing issues
effectively.
● Adaptability: Willingness to support various roles and tasks as operational needs evolve.
Qualifications and Requirements

● Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehousing role is preferred.
● Knowledge of GMP and SOPs in a manufacturing environment.
● Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a production setting.
● Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
● Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to
machinery noise, varying temperatures, and strong product scents. Personal protective equipment
(PPE) must be worn as required.
