About the Role
As Social Care Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of children’s residential services in line with Tusla registration and inspection requirements, Children First, safeguarding responsibilities and relevant national standards.
You will ensure safe, child-centred care; lead staff supervision and practice development; maintain effective governance, records and compliance; and work with the Regional Manager, Tusla and other professionals to support each young person’s care plan, rights, wellbeing, education and development.
The role requires a confident, accountable leader who promotes safety, inclusion, participation, independence and continuous quality improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
- Youth and Community work qualification,
- Honours Degree in Social Studies/Social Care/Youth and Community Development,
- BA (Hons) Counselling and Addiction Studies,
- Disability Diploma, Degree in Social Science (minimum Level 7), or equivalent qualification.
- Management qualification or working towards one.
- CORU registration or equivalent
- Computer Literate
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Experience:
- 7+ years’ management or supervisory experience in health or social care.
- Experience supporting young people and/or people with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience with budgets, rosters, governance, administration, reporting and compliance.
- Ability to lead induction, probation, supervision and performance management.
- Strong communication, teamwork, stakeholder engagement and change leadership skills.
Desirable:
Experience applying National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, Trust in Care and Adult Safeguarding.
Experience in a similar role and promoting independence for people receiving support.
