Mr Binman is an Irish waste recycling company serving over 45,000 residential and 4,500 commercial customers in Ireland. We provide numerous services, including residential bin collection, commercial bin collection and skip rental. Job Purpose: The Artic Lorry Driver is responsible for operating the Artic trucks in a safe and appropriate manner. You must conduct all activities according to the delivery and collection schedule and all relevant policies and procedures.
The Artic Lorry Driver must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. The driver role is to follow a pre-planned route to customer locations for the collection of glass and to delivery back to the assigned transfer station.
Responsibilities:
Daily Inspection
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks as per daily inspection sheet
- Document any requirements for maintenance or repairs in the daily inspection sheet
Routes
- Must have full knowledge of routes assigned to them
- Prior to leaving depot, check if there are any related dockets issued for their attention
- Service bring bank sites, businesses and other facilities according to set policies and procedures
- Maintains telephone contact with relevant departments in relation to customer service
- Operate trucks in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
- Loads must be secured with netting prior to leaving customer sites
- Comply with customer site rules
- Clean trucks as scheduled an/or required
Safe Driving for Work
- Comply with the Road Traffic Act at all times
- Comply with tachograph regulation
- Ensure all hazard beacons are on at all times
- Take breaks as per schedule
- Concentrate on the road at all times while driving
- In event of breakdowns or repairs, if possible park the truck in a safe location
Health and Safety
- Wearing of assigned Personal Protection Equipment and Clothing
- Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Highlight to Management any difficulties in relation to servicing a customer
- Practice workplace safety
- Obey site rules on customer sites and third party facilities
- Provide a high level of customer service
