We are seeking an MEP Pre-Construction Engineer to work within our Pre-Construction Department in supporting our bid activities. This is a technical role involving technical and design review, technical and commercial compliance, tender and analytical report preparation, and pre-construction support for MEP Pre-Construction department across all sectors within the business.
The successful candidate can be ex-trades (Mechanical or Electrical), Building Services Engineering / Mechanical or Electrical engineering
Worked as project supervisor or above in a Mechanical or Electrical capacity
Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems and Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning
The ability to work as part of a team to manage MEP Pre-Construction activities
Good working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical work packages
Experience working on large-scale projects is an advantage
Reporting to the MEP Pre-Construction Lead, your key responsibilities are:
To liaise with design teams and MEP sub-contractors both during and after the bid process
Ensure MEP sub-contractors receive the information needed to progress the MEP bid in accordance with the bid documents
Organise meetings with the MEP sub-contractors and design teams where required
Track the progress of MEP sub-contractors against the bid deadlines
Provide the pre-construction team with up-to-date reports on current MEP bid developments
Regularly check updated bid documentation and update the MEP sub-contractors
Evaluate MEP bid submissions for non-conformity from MEP contractors both technically and commercially
Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation in assisting the team produce competitive bids
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure constructability and feasibility
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing
Identify risks, cost drivers and opportunities for value engineering
Support pre-construction planning and tender presentations
Maintain detailed documentation of all bid assumptions and calculations
Ensure compliance with company standards, quality requirements and relevant regulations
Advising on procurement strategy
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations
The ability to work independently, while meeting strict deadlines
Assisting with growing the supply chain by meeting suppliers and diversifying our approach to procurement

As a member of the pre-construction team, you will be required to have an open and adaptable approach to developing solutions, together with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will be a key member of the preconstruction team, shaping project win strategy. You will work with local resources, regional commercial teams and the estimating department based in Dublin.
