About the Role
As a Social Care Leader placed with one of our Under 12's residential care clients, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Social Care Management Team and leading the social care team to deliver the highest standard of care. You'll ensure the needs of the children are met while fostering a positive and professional team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support social care team members and relief workers.
- Promote professional development and motivation within the team.
- Ensure the centre is a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for children.
- Oversee the implementation of care plans, aftercare plans, and placement planning.
- Engage in keyworking duties and case management responsibilities.
- Ensure effective communication and handover procedures within the team.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and significant event reviews to promote best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Act as an on-call support for the team as required.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates holding any of the following qualifications:
- QQI Level 8 in Psychology
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling/ Psychotherapy
- QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
- QQI Level 7 on Youth and Community or similar
- QQI Level 7 in Social Science/Social Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Family Support
- Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
- Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
- QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
- QQI Level 7 Early Years Care, where centre caters for children aged 12 and under
- BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
- Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
Please note, we are open to Early Years candidates, providing they have a completed Level 7 minimum in Early Years/Childhood Education.
Desirable:
- A full, clean driving licence.

Please note, CORU registration is not required — candidates can practice as 'Residential Care Workers' should they not be registered with CORU.
