CDYSB youth worker scale for SCP role.
Scale 39,661 – 58,157.

Role Details
The successful applicant is line managed and will report to the Dóchas Project Director.
Work is assigned by the Project Director and supervised by the Project Director.
Service Information
Dóchas Family Centre is a community-based family support and therapeutic service.
Our mission: Empowering children & families through community-based therapeutic interventions to strengthen the family unit by building resilience and tackling trauma’
The service works specifically with children and families who are experiencing difficulties across the local catchment area.
We are funded on an annual basis primarily through Tusla- Prevention, Partnership, Family Support’ (PPFS) and through Tusla counselling/therapy funding stream.
We are a holistic service using assessment to inform intervention and supports in partnership and collaboration with parents/children and other involved stakeholders which might include, Statutory Services- Tusla, CAMHS, Primary Care, Schools, HSCLs and SCP.
Purpose of Post
Child Support worker -SCP Role
The Child Support Worker is specifically tasked with supporting children and young people who may have been in receipt of support from the main Dochas Program in relation to school retention and participation.
Work collaboratively with the relevant Dochas team members in the provision of support and within the framework of Dochas Family Centre in providing support to individual children and their families.
Maintain regular contact with parents/carers and keep them informed of work and support provided. Ensure that children/parents and caregivers care plans are implemented through practice and reviewed regularly.
Duties & Responsibilities
Individual Work
Undertake individual direct work with allocated children to further support their needs and other community supports.
To manage an allocated case load and work effectively with parents.
Group Work
Group activities with identified children which promote their development socially and emotionally. Work effectively with other local agencies or community supports to ensure positive outcomes for children.
Policy/Procedures
Adhere to the service guidance documents, policies and procedures as well as best practice and legislative requirements.
Keep accurate, up to date and factual service user records
Adhere to children first and Child Safeguarding practices.
Discuss concerns with the Project Director where such concerns arise in respect of a young person and report as a mandatory person as required.
Participate in and attend the service monthly team meetings and weekly case meetings.
Work collaboratively with Dóchas employees in the provision of supports as required.
Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
· Recognized Level 8 Degree in Social Care, Social Studies, Social Science, Youth & Community or other applicable degree.
· Experience or qualification in recreational group-based programs.
· Experience and knowledge in child protection, legislation and guidelines.
· Experience working on own initiative, with good time management.
· Full clean driver’s license Essential.
· Staff training will be provided to enhance delivery service.
Pay: From €39,661.00 per year
