The Green Kitchen is a social enterprise café committed to quality food, excellent service and meaningful community impact. We are currently recruiting an experienced Catering Assistant to join our deli-style café at the GPO Museum.
This is a hands-on role suited to a reliable, energetic all-rounder who enjoys working as part of a small team in a busy visitor-focused environment.

The Role
The Catering Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the café and deli counter, working closely with the Catering Supervisor and wider team to ensure high standards of food preparation and customer service.
This is a varied role and will involve working across food prep, service and coffee station.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing sandwiches, salads and deli items to a high standard
- Providing friendly, professional customer service
- Barista duties and coffee preparation
- Assisting with food preparation and counter service
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Supporting stock rotation and basic stock control
- Operating tills and handling cash
- Working as part of a small team to ensure smooth daily service
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a café, deli or catering environment
- Strong sandwich making and food preparation experience
- Confident barista experience
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- A positive team player with good communication skills
- Reliable, organised and flexible
- Available to work weekdays and weekends as required
