Key Requirements
Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter or Equivalent Trade.
OR
Ordinary Degree (Level 7) in Engineering or Technical Science
- Previous experience in a medical manufacturing environment (ideally 3+years).
- Experience in maintenance and repair in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP and six sigma requirements.
- Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems and automation processes.
- Process Validation experience desirable.
The Role
Seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the Engineering Team at APS Materials.
This role will focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of production equipment, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and downtime is minimised. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with experience working o in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to Plant Manager or designated representative.
- Support the quality of the manufacturing and validation processes through the Company’s management systems: Quality, HR, OHS.
- Support the Engineering Team and third party contractors with various tasks and projects as required.
- Preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, setup & commissioning of production and plant equipment.
- Continuous improvement of production equipment & process, by identifying and implementing projects to improve and maintain reliability & optimum operational effectiveness.
- To be familiar with all relevant SOPs, equipment validation and controls for the operation and safe running of production & be trained in machine operations.
- Maintenance planning: plan the scope of work required, ensure all spares are in stock and available, organize & supervise external vendors where necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist with training of operators on set up, fault correction, adjustment, etc.
- To work both as a team and on your own initiative using Root Cause Analysis to prevent reoccurring problems & maintain strict quality control levels.
- Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling, upskilling & other job-related competencies.
- Assist in new installations of production equipment, upgrades and modifications working and training with equipment manufacturers.
- Maintain and present appropriate technical data to internal / external audit and inspection groups and Customers.
- Develop your engineering and technical capabilities and skills to ensure ongoing process requirements can be effectively achieved and continually improved.
- Other duties as delegated by Engineering Managers.
