Louis Fitzgerald Hotel is seeking an experienced and hands-on Conference & Banqueting Manager to take ownership of the standards, organisation and daily delivery of our Conference and Banqueting operation.
The successful candidate will work as part of the hotel’s day-to-day operational management team while taking specific responsibility for the Conference and Banqueting segment.
You will be highly visible on the floor, leading functions from initial planning and room set-up through to service delivery, breakdown and final handover.
About The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring that every meeting, conference, private event and banqueting function is prepared and delivered to a consistently high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:

Taking operational ownership of all conferences, meetings, banquets and private functions.

Reviewing upcoming function sheets and ensuring all operational requirements are understood in advance.

Coordinating with the Events, Reservations, Kitchen, Food and Beverage, Accommodation and Front Office teams.

Planning room set-ups, staffing, service requirements and equipment for each function.

Ensuring conference and function rooms are prepared correctly, on time and in accordance with the event details.

Conducting pre-function checks and team briefings.

Leading the service delivery of functions and remaining visible and available to clients throughout events.

Ensuring tea and coffee breaks, lunches, dinners and banqueting service are delivered on time and to the required standard.

Acting as the main operational contact for organisers during functions.

Managing last-minute changes calmly and effectively.

Developing clear opening, service, handover and closing procedures for the department.

Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, stock control and equipment storage.

Planning staffing levels in line with the event schedule and business demand.

Training, coaching and supervising Conference and Banqueting team members and porters.

Addressing performance or service issues promptly and escalating concerns where required.

Reviewing guest and organiser feedback and implementing improvements.

Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, fire safety and licensing requirements.

Supporting the wider Food and Beverage operation and working as a floor manager across the hotel when required.

Participating in the Duty Manager roster, including evenings and weekends.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will have:

Previous management or supervisory experience in Conference and Banqueting, hotel events or a busy Food and Beverage operation.

Strong practical experience in function set-up and service delivery.

A hands-on management style and a willingness to lead from the floor.

Excellent planning, organisation and attention to detail.

Strong communication and team-leadership skills.

The confidence to manage clients, organisers and operational teams.

The ability to read and translate function sheets into clear operational plans.

A calm and solutions-focused approach in a busy hotel environment.

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business requirements.

Good working knowledge of food safety, health and safety and responsible service standards.
