Lead Group Facilitator – Emerge Intervention
The Lead Group Facilitator will play a key role in running Emerge Intervention’s South Dublin service in Sandyford.

This is a hands-on role working directly with neurodivergent children in small, carefully matched groups. Our sessions are child-led, neuroaffirming and play-based, with a strong focus on helping children build confidence, friendships, emotional regulation, flexibility, independence and a better understanding of themselves.
The successful candidate will lead weekly group sessions, meet new children and families, help determine appropriate group placements, communicate with parents and contribute to the overall running and development of the Dublin service.
What the role involves
- Leading small therapeutic groups for neurodivergent children
- Building warm, trusting relationships with children and creating an environment where they feel safe and comfortable being themselves
- Planning and adapting sessions around the individual children within each group
- Supporting areas such as friendships, communication, flexible thinking, coping with change, emotional regulation, confidence and independence
- Meeting new children individually before they join a group
- Speaking with parents to understand their child, strengths, needs and goals
- Matching children appropriately into groups
- Providing regular feedback and guidance to parents
- Communicating with the Emerge team and having regular check-ins
- Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of sessions
- Helping maintain the Emerge environment, resources and overall standard of the service
- Using initiative and problem-solving independently while knowing when to ask for support
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Master’s degree in a relevant area, such as Psychology, Early Intervention, Autism Studies, Child Development, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Analysis, Education or a related discipline
- Ideally has 5+ years’ experience working directly with neurodivergent children; however, we will consider someone with slightly less experience if they are an exceptional fit
- Has a strong understanding of autism and neurodiversity-affirming practice
- Is confident leading groups of children independently
- Is warm, playful and genuinely enjoys working directly with children
- Can recognise each child’s individual strengths, interests and support needs
- Communicates confidently and professionally with parents
- Is organised and reliable and can manage their own schedule and responsibilities
- Is comfortable taking direction and following the Emerge approach, particularly during the first few months
- Is not afraid to ask questions or seek guidance when needed
- Has initiative and can eventually take real ownership of the role without requiring step-by-step direction
- Works well as part of a small, supportive team

We want someone who children naturally feel comfortable around; someone warm, calm, fun and engaging, but also confident enough to lead a room. They should be able to build excellent relationships with parents while maintaining professional boundaries.
This role would suit someone who wants more independence and ownership than a traditional clinical role, while still having the support of an experienced team behind them.
Pay: €40,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
