The role
- Responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of plant and equipment in the facilities department, compiling standard specifications /procedures for each item and monitoring all existing plant to standard specifications.
- Ensure all paperwork (PM, Sign in sheets, work permits, etc.) is completed by the engineers/contractors in line with H&S and Audit specification (BRC, etc.)
- The above equipment will include but not limited to – Fillers, flow wrappers, AHU’s, chillers, compressors, CIP and pumping systems.
- The Maintenance Engineers play a key role in ensuring required H&S standards are being met and driving further improvement in standards through the correct use of PPE, permits, etc.
- Establish relationships with the customers and suppliers in pursuit of continuous improvement and on-going business development.
- Attends internal 3M meetings to help establish priorities and assign tasks.
- Solves, in conjunction with the Quality department, customer related problems/issues as needed.
- Record daily and weekly activities into the current system.
- In conjunction with approved vendors, research new processes and/or systems for maintenance/manufacture of equipment and implement new processes and systems as developed under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
- Compliance to all site Environmental training and regulations
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures and corporate policies.
- Act in accordance with the company’s guiding principles and adherence to the Corporate Code of Conduct.
The Person
- Previous maintenance experience required
- Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship essential
- Staff must be able to complete the above requirements of the job role
- Good level of verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service
- Must be flexible with working hours / shifts to accommodate company operations.
- Be willing to participate in relevant training as the company requires.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
