Support Worker
1 Year Fixed Term, Part time hours
Up to 20 hours per week (Weekdays/Evenings) | Kildare
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Support Worker to provide individualised, personcentred support to a person with autism living in the Kildare area.
Purpose of the Role
The Support Worker will deliver highquality, rightsbased support in line with an agreed individual support plan, promoting autonomy, inclusion, wellbeing, and participation in daily and community life, consistent with the principles of New Directions.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one support in a personcentred and strengthsbased manner

Support the individual to engage in meaningful activities and community participation in line with New Directions themes

Promote independence, choice, dignity, and selfdetermination
-
Support emotional wellbeing and daily routines in a consistent and respectful way

Communicate effectively with the individual, family members, and relevant professionals
-
Maintain appropriate records in line with service requirements
Essential Criteria
-
Experience supporting individuals with autism

Demonstrated understanding of personcentred practice

Calm, respectful, and empathetic approach
-
Ability to work independently and responsibly

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Reliability and flexibility within agreed working hours

Full driver's licence and access to transport (where applicable) is essential
Desirable Criteria

Relevant qualification in social care, healthcare, or a related discipline
