Night Porter
Commencing June 2026
This summer we are opening Omos - a 16-bedroom guesthouse and 40-seat restaurant set on 4.2 acres just outside the heritage town of Abbeyleix, County Laois.
The name Omos - meaning honour, duty, and respect - reflects our intention behind this project: to create something lasting and meaningful; something with soul.
We are building a Guesthouse and Restaurant that feel like they belong, reflecting on our neighbourhood and community, and that generously welcome curiosity, craft, and discovery.
Reporting into our newly appointed Night Manager, our Night Porter will act as the guardian of the Guesthouse, ensuring the safety and security of our grounds and our Guests.
Our Night Porter will:

Maintain the pristine condition and cleanliness of all areas of the Guesthouse.

Ensure all procedures in regards to fire and safety are strictly adhered to at all times.

Facilitate the seamless check-in and check-out of Guests with warmth and professionalism.

Oversee the secure management and attentive porterage of Guest luggage.

Take full ownership of the front entrance and exterior, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming first impression.

Set up the breakfast area with precision, following our specific Guesthouse guidelines.

Support the Guesthouse Assistants in meticulously preparing for guest departures.

Complete all nightly stewardship tasks as per the established checklist.

Deputise for the Night Manager, providing reliable leadership when required.
The Person:

Experience in a similar hospitality role; someone who thrives on multitasking and carries a positive, can-do attitude.

Enjoys the responsibility of autonomy and remains composed when managing changing priorities.

Demonstrates an excellent awareness of hygiene and cleanliness standards.

Possesses great attention to detail and a pride in their workspace.

Discreet, professional, and capable of managing sensitive Guest information with total confidentiality.
