Position Overview
North Cork Electrical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar PV Site Surveyor to join our growing renewables team. The successful candidate will carry out pre-installation surveys for residential, agricultural, and commercial solar PV projects, ensuring accurate technical information is collected to support system design, quoting, and installation planning.
Key Responsibilities
Site Surveys
- Conduct on-site surveys for Solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installations.
- Measure roof dimensions, pitch, orientation, and usable installation areas.
- Assess roof structure and identify any installation constraints.
- Perform shading assessments and evaluate solar generation potential.
- Identify suitable locations for inverters, batteries, isolators, and associated equipment.
- Plan cable routes and assess installation requirements.
Electrical Assessment
- Inspect existing electrical installations, consumer units, and meter locations.
- Identify any upgrade requirements or compliance issues.
- Gather information required for SEAI grant applications and design documentation.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete detailed survey reports using company software and mobile survey tools.
- Produce accurate sketches, photographs, and technical notes.
- Liaise with the design and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Highlight any risks, access issues, or additional works required before installation.
Customer Engagement
- Represent North Cork Electrical professionally on-site.
- Explain survey findings and installation processes to customers.
- Answer technical questions and manage customer expectations.
- Support the sales and project delivery teams with technical input.
Health & Safety
- Carry out site-specific risk assessments.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Safe Electric, SEAI, and working-at-height requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture on every site visit.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in Solar PV, electrical installations, construction surveying, or a related technical role.
- Good understanding of domestic electrical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working at heights and accessing rooftops safely.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Competent using tablets, mobile apps, and Microsoft Office.
- Full clean driving licence.
Pay: €35,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
